haha this is waaaaay below those classics from Bathory guys, c'mon... I understand you all like watching Abbath doing pyrotechnics under a fullmoon night sky and shit. I love the imagery myself and the trve bm atmosphere and shit, but musically this is just not that good.

idk i love this. early black metal for me is more about feel/atmosphere for me. musically it isn't complex but it's just really well executed for what it aims to be. i just know it when i hear it. excited to jam more immortal though.

Gave this a re-spin and a 3 was too harsh so I updated my score. I still think they got way better afterwards. Cryptic Winterstorms is the highlight here for sure. It has the clearest glimpse of the brilliance that would come after this album.
