Faust's version is that he already just wanted to kill someone and his plan was to lead them into the forest, then the guy came onto him and that was that. I kinda buy that he didn't target the guy for being gay, but the guy thought "let's go take a walk in the woods" was a proposition. or maybe I've seen Lords of Chaos one too many times (once) and just see the entire second wave bm scene as a soap opera of teenagers who bit off more than they could chew.
