3.0 good | fog CONTRIBUTOR | November 5th 20 | Power and Glory is pure gold. The rest is solid, but somehow it never really catches fire.

0.0 | altertide0 | August 20th 15 | Magic and Loss may be a bit overdone: the tempo is ultra-slow, the subject - a little pompous, and every single song has a subtitle, often very pretentious ("The Thesis", "The Summation"). Still, it's a beautiful elegy, telling a passionate story of pain ("Dreamin'", "Goodbye Mass"), empathy ("Magician", "Sword of Damocles") and acceptance ("Harry's Circumcision", s/t). Heart-breaking.

3.5 great | rib | August 20th 15 | This one gets overlooked. Not all the songs are great, but "What's Good" is a great song that got a little ignored being on this album I tink. There are three or four other really good songs. And you get naked down to earth emotion from Lou here.

3.0 good | shindip | July 14th 09 | While lyrically brilliant, the instrumentation is nothing special, and Lou Reed's weak voice does little to propel the music forwards.
