Review Summary: Great album from Italy
Many as I consider it a true masterpiece, others disgust like the plague, the most sordid individuals accused of lack originality, repeatability, zero innovation ...
The truth is one: although nowadays power metal is a genre that never inflated, it could not be said in 1998 (when Return To Heaven Denied was given to the press).
Labyrinth, training them better known Pulls on vocals, drums and Mat Stancioiu with Olaf Thorsen yet fully of the game, can fully considered the founding fathers of the Italian power metal as we understand it today (someone is saying Rhapsody of Fire? No, sorry, can not hear you!)
This little gem to be included in any self-respecting record collection is a real collection of gems, from the opening song "Moonlight", with its ritornellone everything to sing, more melodic and dreamy songs like "The Night of Dreams" or "State of Grace", up to two strappamutande ballads "Heaven Denied" or "Falling Rain". Interesting also the episode very instrumental and electronic entitled "Feel".
Eleven tracks, an hour of play and never, never, ever say a fall in tone, a melody even a little 'twisted riff or a little' less guessed the others. Songwriting by fear, impeccable execution really capitalized with an interpretation by the legendary Rob Tyrant, a real golden voice of our house ... everything really verges on perfection!
Now the question arises: with a band so capable of turning out masterpieces of the genre and to keep pace superlatives over the years, why persist in seeking band abroad? The real gold mine is music in Italy!
