Brougham was a rap-rock project founded by Jason Slater (ex-Third Eye Blind, Snake River Conspiracy) and his childhood friend/rapper Luke Oakson (Luke Sick). The band was signed to Warner Bros. in 1999 and released their debut album, Le Cock Sportif, in May 2000, which was a commercial failure, resulting in Brougham's breakup by the end of the year. Slater and Luke Sick attempted to work on a new Brougham album in 2005/2006, though it was never finished. Following Slater's death in 2020, Luke Sick released the demos for the band's unfinished second record under the name Bateh Bros. in July 2022.
