The Godz was formed in Columbus, Ohio in 1976. After releasing two albums, the band split up in 1980 with Eric Moore as the only constant member. Moore later reformed the band with new members and the band continued to tour and write music. Eric Moore died on May 17, 2019.
The band is not to be confused with the New York band of the same name.
