DON'T WANT A NATION UNDER A NEW MANIA!
AND CAN YOU HEAR THE SOUND OF HYSTERIA?
THE SUBLIMINAL MIND-F*CK AMERICA! |
Artuma

05.18.14 | Are you suggesting that American Idiot is actually a good album? |
NordicMindset
05.18.14 | yes we was |
danielcardoso
05.18.14 | "Are you suggesting that American Idiot is actually a good album?"
Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. |
HenchmanOfSanta
05.18.14 | That's unfortunate, because it's exceedingly bloated and uninteresting. I got over it when I was 14. |
HenchmanOfSanta
05.18.14 | Also, not an Arcade Fire fan, Artuma. That just ain't my scene. |
danielcardoso
05.18.14 | "That's unfortunate, because it's exceedingly bloated and uninteresting."
Dude, it has Jesus Of Suburbia, Holiday, Boulevard, Letterbomb and Whatsername. It's certainly not uninteresting. |
SharkTooth
05.18.14 | Mm food>>madvillainy |

None of those songs are remotely interesting or nearly as fun as their old material. Pop-punk stretched to nine minutes is terrible. |
danielcardoso
05.18.14 | I agree that some of their older stuff in Dookie and Insomniac is more chilled out and fun, but American Idiot has some more mature and evolved material, that shows how they've grown as a band. |
HenchmanOfSanta
05.18.14 | They grew, but they weren't good at it. Some bands mature and change positively, others can really only do one sound particularly well. I think Green Day falls pretty hard in the latter category. I am strictly a 90s GD fan. |
Artuma
05.18.14 | why are we talking about american idiot? we all know it's a fucking average album
let's talk about the perfection that is 16 instead |
Inveigh
05.18.14 | lol American Idiot is one of the worst albums ever created. they were annoying even before that came out (fuck everything they did after 1997), and it's just gotten worse over time.
cool list man but where is Salvation? also a lot of great hiphop in 2004 overall. Ipecac Neat, Mm.. Food?, E&A, Life of Joseph W. McVey, 3:16, The College Dropout... |
HenchmanOfSanta
05.18.14 | Ipecac Neat was the year before. Salvation and Mm.. Food just missed the cut. Not a Kanye fan and the only Eyedea & Abilities album I've heard is First Born (and Eyedea's solo album). |
Inveigh
05.18.14 | word man but ipecac was march 2004 |
Inveigh
05.18.14 | well, for everyone outside of minny and the other 27 people who saw him on tour in the last couple of months of 2003 |
danielcardoso
05.18.14 | Wow, a lot of hate for American Idiot... |
HenchmanOfSanta
05.18.14 | RateYourMusic, which is where I get most of my cataloging info from, has it as March 2003. AllMusic has it a year later though.
More directly, I just checked the Doomtree website. They say 2003. |
HenchmanOfSanta
05.18.14 | Regardless, it made an appearance on my lists. But Audition and Never Better are next level. |
Snake.
05.18.14 | 'yes we was'
hong are you fucking kidding me |
Snake.
05.18.14 | also where's watch out! and funeral |
SharkTooth
05.18.14 | Yeah, A.E. sucks.
I would have put Mm Food instead of Madvillainy though |
slagun
05.18.14 | no love for Miss Machine? |
Inveigh
05.18.14 | "Regardless, it made an appearance on my lists. But Audition and Never Better are next level."
