| My Personal Favourites/Best Albums of 2015
Sorry this one was a bit late, I just wrapped up high school & I ain't been able to apply for a job til just yesterday. I'll see how that goes. Anyways, this right here's my favourite albums of last year. A few of the picks here aren't necessarily gonna be the outright best for everyone, and I got no idea how contentious this is gonna end up being.
And I ain't gonna count Meow The Jewels, 'cause that was a remix. No EPs, either.
Before we get started, I wanna give a big shoutout to Myke C-Town for introducing me to an act called Virgin Forest. Their album VF3 isn't gonna be on here, but I reckon it kicks all kinds of ass all the same. Also wanna give shoutouts to Earl Sweatshirt, TesseracT, Ashley Monroe, Beach House (for Thank Your Lucky Stars), Between the Buried And Me, Killing Joke, Blind Guardian, Foals, Deafheaven, Pusha T, Chris Stapleton & James McMurtry (thanks, Spectrum Pulse!) for some more honourable mentions I missed. EDIT: I just added all of these in my honourable mentions list ifanyone still cares.
Also, I just wanna point out i haven't heard every record that's come out last year, so stuff like Fightstar, Hop Along, Enslaved, Leprous & all that unfortunately aren't gonna be able to qualify 'cause I ended up missing them due to my jacked-up schedule. Sorry about that, guys.
Last thing, my number 1 might shock you a little bit, considering my number 2's been up top on almost everyone else's list. The 1's not better than the couple of records that come before it, but it's probably the one I got the biggest high out of all year.
Feel free to take potshots at me if you disagree, I'm cool if you guys have got any issues with my picks here. | 40 | | The Game The Documentary 2.5 | 39 | | Titus Andronicus The Most Lamentable Tragedy | 38 | | Queensryche Condition Human | 37 | | Kacey Musgraves Pageant Material | 36 | | Napalm Death Apex Predator - Easy Meat | 35 | | Kamasi Washington The Epic | 34 | | Lamb of God VII: Sturm und Drang | 33 | | Oneohtrix Point Never Garden of Delete | 32 | | Destroyer Poison Season | 31 | | High on Fire Luminiferous | 30 | | CZARFACE Every Hero Needs a Villain | 29 | | Baroness Purple | 28 | | Dr. Dre Compton | 27 | | Armored Saint Win Hands Down | 26 | | Ghost (SWE) Meliora | 25 | | The Wombats Glitterbug | 24 | | Lupe Fiasco Tetsuo and Youth | 23 | | Eric Church Mr. Misunderstood | 22 | | Strung Out Transmission.Alpha.Delta | 21 | | Vanden Plas Chronicles of the Immortals: Netherworld II | 20 | | Faith No More Sol Invictus | 19 | | Twenty One Pilots Blurryface | 18 | | Soilwork The Ride Majestic | 17 | | Paradise Lost The Plague Within | 16 | | Marianas Trench Astoria | 15 | | Riverside Love, Fear and the Time Machine | 14 | | Leviathan Scar Sighted | 13 | | CHVRCHES Every Open Eye | 12 | | Toto Toto XIV | 11 | | Iron Maiden The Book of Souls | 10 | | Sufjan Stevens Carrie and Lowell | 9 | | Bjork Vulnicura | 8 | | Panopticon Autumn Eternal | 7 | | Jamie xx In Colour | 6 | | Sleater-Kinney No Cities to Love | 5 | | Cattle Decapitation The Anthropocene Extinction | 4 | | Father John Misty I Love You, Honeybear | 3 | | Steven Wilson Hand. 01.20.16 | Cool list man, lots of great album on here, not quite in the order I'd have em but still glad to see them here | Sowing
01.20.16 | Enjoyed this list, there is some overlap between my favorites and yours. Check out The World is a Beautiful Place's Harmlessness. I found it late but it would have come in as my #2 or #3 behind Sufjan Stevens. | Davil667
01.20.16 | Nice to see 20 on here, needs moar love. | BandNewbac
01.20.16 | At least there's some originality here. | furyroad97
01.20.16 | Glad you guys enjoyed it for the most part, thanks! And thanks for that rec, SS, that Harmlessness record kicks all kinds of ass from what I heard off it. I ain't sure how the hell I missed it. Kinda reminds me a little bit of Basement crossed with a slower version of British India on a couple songs, but that's just me.
I ramble on a lot, sorry. | Koris
01.20.16 | Nice list, man. Lots here that I enjoyed as well | Pangea
01.20.16 | pretty good list | furyroad97
01.20.16 | Thanks, mate. Just saw your review for the self titled Bowie stuff. Good job. |
