Blaqk Audio - Material Ranked
I did the thing where I didn't make my list in another doc first and sputnik did the thing where it punished me for the previous statement so the descriptions are more basic mostly. |

To Be Alone - the track is too subtle for it's own good and doesn't really go anywhere. The boys were definitely trying something new but since this is my least favorite BA track you can tell how well I think it worked for them |

I'm A Mess - song starts. verse is outstanding. pre-chorus isn't half bad. you realize the pre chorus is the chorus and it's all downhill from their. |

Anointed - solid single. solid chorus. solid song. possible This Celluloid Dream reference doe >>>>>>>> |

You Will Hate Me - I hated this track once it got to the chorus thing. it grew on me a bit. This could have been amazing with a better chorus and the song name is way too good for this also. |

Graphic Violence - great chorus. that's really the only thing I think about when it comes to this song. I really like the effects on the vocals and how everything just blends well together |

Ceremonials (Burst Into Stars) - BA's take on the radio teen club anthem and it's actually really enjoyable. I originally thought this was just a weaker Snuff on Digital and it kinda is but it's still a really fun song. I'd love to dance to this with some unlucky female |

Curious Friends - The most well written song here since it uses the standard pop song formula and doesn't skimp on anything. ever aspect of the song is the perfect length and it all just fits so well together. The chorus is very enjoyable but as I've probably stated for a while now, Davey is past his prime. He still sounds good here though. |

Black at the Center - I swear if this song wasn't just one verse, 2 choruses, and a subtle instrumental break it would be a top tier BA song. The atmosphere in the verse is chilling and the chorus is gorgeous. One of Davey's best performances on here by far. I feel like this song deserved way more than it got though. It has a great base and if it were expanded on it could have been their next Bitter For Sweet with a Fear of Being Found flair. still a great one. |

First To Love - tied with 2 essentially. I'D DO ANYTHING TO BE YOUR TRAGEDY is just so Davey and I love it and the chorus is fun as all hell. Classic Blaqk Audio right here. |

Waiting To Be Told - Some cool Depeche Mode styled vocals in the verse. I love the insistent quarter beat in the chorus it gives this track a punch. The chorus is outstanding and although I don;t think it touches the BA tracks I've adored for years now, I really think this is one of their best. |

Material - Last time I will bring up my failed relationship, I swear. But this song takes me back to the night I got broken up with. It was unexpected, especially because the day was going well. We cried (me in a far more hysterical way) for about 2 hours until I decided to leave with her begging to drive me home to make sure I didn't do anything crazy but I wanted to walk it. I needed to. And the somewhat dark but still lively beat of this song is what accompanied my walk home. I didn't even think about it, this was just the first song I felt like listening to in the cold dead of night. And I did, on repeat, for most of the walk. The thing is, we agreed to stay together for 1 more month until the end of the summer which was overall a positive experience but it still made me feel a certain disconnect with her, my surroundings, and even myself. It was a weird time for me.
"I am all alone with my beautiful things".
Good job, Davey. One of my favorite songs |
