One of those records you need to listen to front-to-back. • No idea you liked 3 so much. Was one of my favorites in high school and it holds up reasonably well today. Sadly wasn't a fan of the direction Coheed to after this. • 6: great album but I'm a weirdo who prefers Codename: Dustsucker. • 7 is classic. • 8 is the best Cocteau Twins album so nice job there :) • 9 should be a 5.0, come on man. • 17: I'm never sure if I like this or Leaving Your Body Map more, and every time I listen to them back-to-back to decide, I just end up more confused. (Both great though.) • Couldn't get into 19 at all. Sonic Youth is very hit or miss for me. Favorite is probably Goo. • Same with 25. Have tried (and failed) several times to get into this and Crooken Rain to no avail. • 28: Well duh. • 31: Acceptable and thankfully you realize that Vespertine > this, but that they're both amazing. • Just got into 36 a few weeks ago and love it. 'Waitress' is climbing the ranks of my favorite songs of the decade, no lie. • 39: bold choice but I like it. • Liar >> 48 but again, both great so I can't be too mad. • I once viewed 67 as my fourth favorite National (behind TWFM, Alligator, and HV), though it has been inching its way toward third place, with Alligator slipping a bit. (Those four albums, though, represent one of the best four-album runs by a band that I can think of over the last few decades.) • 71: I hope you have at least one David Bowie 5'd • 86: Should be higher but I can't complain about a 4.5 I guess. Mandylion and Nighttime, however awesome they are, can sometimes be a little on the nose with 90s (almost goth-y) vibes. Planet is their best for me, but it's also very long and for me benefited immensely from repeat listens.
