05.03.21 | As far as ambient goes, Brian Eno is certainly a classic choice (then again, he's practically a pioneer of that style of music), while if you want some good downtempo (I assume you are referring to the electronica genre whose name is used interchangeably with trip-hop), I'd definitely try Portishead or early Morcheeba (I prefer their second album, but if you want something closer to downtempo/trip-hop, listen to their debut, Who Can You Trust? Plenty of langorous melodies, slow tempos, dreamy keyboards, and funky wah-wah guitars).
