Super stoked

| |
dig it
| |
which song has Isaac Brock on it wanna peep that shit
| |
idk but listen to the whole thing
| |
I'm planning to but jesus christ this thing is two hours long like everything Kozelek does and it's already late so no way I'm getting through it all tonight
| |
I'm already up like way past my bedtime tbh
| |
how old are you again
| |
old enough to know mum's right when she says I'll be really tired tomorrow but fuck you mum I go to bed when I want
| |
btw coming back to sense this sounds like Brock on the second track
| |
is this real? i mean jesu has lost some relevance during the last few years but still this has to be great
| |
of course i'm gonna check this, it's justin broadrick m8
| |
dunno where the sun kil moon is on this though, three tracks in and this is basically just jesu with kozelek speaking over the music. sounds great obviously but i wasn't really expecting it would sound like this
| |
does this drone hard?
| |
not really. i mean the melodies are very repetitive in a typically jesu way but i wouldn't say it 'drones'
| |
well does it gaze the shoes then
| |
yeah
| |
good!
| |
Need the lyrics sheet to fully form an opinion, but first impression?
Yikes. Not good.
| |
Man, this sounds amazing. How does it sound?
| |
i just described it above
| |
Okay, I'm on it.
| |
so damn good
| |
this is like a sludgy version of Listener
| |
this is wonderful
| |
This is a grower for sure.
| |
I'm digging it
| |
I'm going to listen to this right now, then listen again tomorrow, then review it.
Edit: First listen over. Oh dear. Sun Kil Moon fans are not going to like my review.
| |
can someone from an unbiased perspective tell me whether or not this is boring as fuck?
| |
aight thank u unbiased perspective michael snoxall
| |
i have no feelings towards sun kil moon whatsoever and feel that jesu's old stuff rocked and all of his new stuff has been boring as old man balls so i just didnt know what to expect
| |
Wow! Look at Jesu being good again for a change.
| |
This started off really good for me, and then dragged a bit in the middle before finishing strongly. Mark reading some of his fan mail did get a bit stale for me though.
Still, I imagine a lot of these songs would sound amazing live!!
| |
This is actually pretty awesome, I'm not usually a fan of Mark Kozelek's "talk about a bunch of random bullshit and call it a song" approach some of the time, but with Broadrick's instrumentation I dig it a lot more
| |
Yeah the music gives this a heavy Hum-type vibe to a Velvet Underground trip.
