Jeff Tweedy Announces Album

Jeff Tweedy, frontman of Wilco, has announced that he will release a record entitled Together At Last on June 23rd, on Wilco's label dBpm. The album will feature Tweedy performing acoustic renditions of a number of popular songs from Wilco's back catalogue, in addition to songs from Tweedy's Golden Smog and Loose Fur side projects. Together At Last marks the first in a series of such albums.

Concurrently with the announcement of the album, Tweedy has released the new version of "Laminated Cat", originally released with Loose Fur. Hear it below.

Seriously though no one needed this. I know he does solo acoustic shows every now and then and that's cool, but an album, let alone a series of them, is kind of pointless.

Satellite, I mean it'll probably be decent because the material he's performing is all great, it's just that, as big a Wilco fan as I am, an album of Tweedy reinterpreting the songs like this isn't something I particularly needed in my life. I'd rather he release an album of new material.
