I always wrote it that way. American people usually use "cancelled" right? Or is it the other way around?

cancelled [2]

not in love with this story (here or elsewhere) given that it basically amounts to Patton Has Mental Health Issues Serious Enough That He Can't Perform And We're Gonna Spotlight His Necessitated Public Statement Way Beyond Its Practical Function, like damn, would it be newsworthy if an artist announced they were, say, withdrawing part of their vinyl stock because of a pressing defect, or similar?

peace and recovery to him ig

unconvinced that increased visibility always amounts to wider destigmatisation; good to see MP setting a precedent, but pasting the raw deets of this strikes me as equally likely to attract the latter kind of comments

gonna walk back that "elsewhere" though; other articles on this have included helplines or the complementary (and much less spartan) FNM statement, both of which cast a reassuringly sensitive light on the content.

so mmmm second thoughts = actually mayb yes, coverage plz, but zero ambiguity about whether or not it's on-side

its more likely to be productive than just shrugging and going "idiots are gonna push back so lets pretend it doesnt real"

you know i agree with that, but if you're gonna write from a supportive position i feel you're gonna have to frame your engagement a little more assertively

There was always something bullet-proof about him.

But I guess this is a pattern we have seen before.
And it's also why I can't help worrying a bit about you, Johnny.

Here we go:

You will be swept aside if you concede to metal health issues or anything that suggests you cannot cope with the reality of what life actually is.

You fucks are so spoiled and entitled you have a self imposed ‘reality’

Reality is shit. Reality is what you make it, if you have befuddled it by bullshit, drugs, narcissistic values, a sense of your own self worth or youthful naivety you have two paths to take.

The paths are both trepidatious but they are travelled and end at different destinations.

Mike has always been a cunt and travelled the wrong one.

Just come out with the reason.

‘Mental Health Issues’ is such a catch-all ‘branded’ nonsense.

Bereaved
Depressed
Massive sense of anxiety
Work load
‘Personal reasons’

Expand on the reason if you are going to have to explain the consequence. I’m having to contend with ‘mental health issues’ has become so diluted it may as well mean ‘I can’t be arsed’

"You will be swept aside if you concede to metal health issues or anything that suggests you cannot cope with the reality of what life actually is."

swept aside by what? the 'woke whirlwind'? thank you mr. zak the expert for your clear insight on what life 'actually is'

"You fucks are so spoiled and entitled you have a self imposed ‘reality’ "

'you fucks' ? I thought we weren't supposed to say the equivalent of 'you people!" but it's ok for you o' enlightened one - you must be the exception for your generalizing hypocrisy, not the rule

"Reality is shit. Reality is what you make it, if you have befuddled it by bullshit, drugs, narcissistic values, a sense of your own self worth or youthful naivety you have two paths to take."

what are those, the 5 cosmic fundamental no-no's to replace the 7 deadly sins? befuddlement is bamboozling me, oh noooo, help me blameless son of creation! the only path I see to take is to the bathroom toilet to cleanse from your nauseating, over-vindictive rhetoric... I hope my puke doesn't miss the toilet just like you likely miss the whole point of any goddamn thing in this world

"The paths are both trepidatious but they are travelled and end at different destinations."

trepidatious? shit, and here I thought the paths were supercalifragilisticexpealidociously antidisestablishmentarianism-like - but yea trepidatious will do, u da teacha, martyr example-man!

"Mike has always been a cunt and travelled the wrong one."

well, you're a quadruple-cunt and you've never travelled anywhere (at least, not in your multiple award-winning comment gems)

sorry, but when you put down a guy who's earned more respect, awe and reverence than you will in 40,000 lifetimes - you went too far.

have a nice day, sunshine!
