After several listens. I have decided that despite this album being better than everything they have done since American Idiot. It is still very much a 2.5, but was still fun for a few listens. It is amazing that the bar has been set so low that this album feels like a resounding success haha

It feels like a love letter to past and present fans to me. While it's far from their best, it feels like it is like, THE definitive mix of all eras into one. Father to a Son is brilliant work, Strange Days Are Here to Stay is basically Letterbomb 2. Second half here is the best I've heard them in ages.

Ok but right now I unironically think Corvette Summer is one of the best songs.

Definitely doesn't sound 50 but to be fair, back in the old days, 20 year olds sounded 50.

yeah back in the old days people didn’t sing with the whiny inflection they did in 00s pop punk and emo agreed

i mean there were still some weirder vocalists out there back then, i'm more speaking of like - The Beatles, Elvis, hell 70s Floyd (and I love Wish You Were Here). How they managed to sound so old when they were young is a sight to see.

Dylan defo sounded older than his age too.

I'm not even dissing these singers, they have their own unique flair to 'em. What they may "lack" in youthful exuberance, often they make up for in good writing overall. Floyd especially. Even if I struggle to REALLY click with certain albums beyond "oh this is cool", i'm not trying to disrespect.

This album is pretty bad. The lyrics are awful. This is as bad as their previous album
