It definitely did not live up to the singles, but it's still way better than FoaMF.

Look Ma was a single too if I recall and that's possibly my favorite song here along with Dilemma

The singles got me hyped for this but then everything else was disappointing

I felt that way initially as Dilemma and Look Ma are def the A-tiers here, but there's still a handful of solid B minuses that don't necessarily make the album but they still are able to prop it up as worth returning to.

Bobby Sox, 1981, Goodnight Adeline, Coma City, Suzie Chapstick, Strange Days Are Here to Stay, Living in the '20s, and Saviors are all fine/decent.

Father to a Son is fairly underrated and probably resides in between the album's best and the mid-tier.

i like look ma but its easily outdone by both the other songs like it here, and the songs in their wider discog it sounds like. coma city and 1981 >>>

goodnight adeline is a huge highlight here too. that double key change makes up for every time theyve botched something like that in the past and hits gloriously. whole mid stretch of this clears

It's really an album full of good-not-great songs. Maybe 1-2 highlight bangers then the rest falls into that B-/C+ territory. But because so much of it is catchy and so little of it is actually bad, it stuck a landing with me.

i like everything here which is a major surprise at this stage. even american idiot is not consistent for me

generally think near everyone else in the scene that dropped recently topped this tho. could only jam this so much in the wake of new alk3

Both feel like fairly catchy career victory laps, but Blink's has a lot more heart.

I still need to listen to the Blink album. I don't have as much of a connection to them as Green Day, but I do like a couple of their songs

Gf and I got engaged on a trip to Hawaii this past week. Rented a convertible and as a result we both have corvette summer still stuck in our heads on loop from playing it too much.
