It's hard to believe these are the same guys who wrote Grammatizator. Like, that song is quite different from anything they did before and since, I wouldn't believe they're able to stray from their sound that far.
Maybe that's why it's a b side?

Gomna check, but I don't really return to the singles myself tbh

Apparently, he's barely able to finish his vocal lines at this stage. Song is aight, chorus is a less engaging 'Life Less Frightning'.

Tim's voice is basically ruined at this point, judging from live footage. You can hear the rasp in his voice when he talks in interviews - I am sure he must have some nasty nodules on his vocals cords. It's pretty bad for Rise Against tbh, the live singing is gonna suck and Tim can give some good performances in studio at best. Selling music isn't gonna bring them money though, you've got to tour. It's a pretty shitty situation.

yano what's wild? 2nd half of Nowhere Generation is like light years better than this...but it's still not great/anything worth listening to for the most part
Monarch was dope, probably the best thing i can see them doing at this point in their career. at least sounds like it would fit on TBM as the punk track. Rules of Play was good too. and there was a spritz of something in every song that was decently cool. like they sound significantly more impassioned than this (and the first half of NG) but the songwriting is just not there at all and the hooks are serviceable at best

the scream on Sooner or Later sounded fucking dope but why do it if you're not gonna go all in with the vibe?? could've saved the song from being average

if this is a 2.4 NG is like a 2.6...maybe?
ya could combine the best songs on each and get a sad 3 for a rise against album

Is this the new one worth checking out?

The new one is so boring, honestly might prefer even this to it.

I had one full listen of the new one and it's not enough for me to get a solid opinion tbh. But I stand by my past statement: this was never that bad, it has some decent tunes

They always have like 2 or 3 tracks per new album that are solid just the rest of the record usually is meh. I like miracle and another track from this ( no idea what its name is). New record is just ehhhh it feels so samey, the acoustic tracks alright, the harsh vox on sooner or later are that tracks only saving grace.

Duplicate post like this bands new song writing principles.
(And i hate that)

I also don't think this is "that bad", but it's just mind-numbingly boring.

yeah, this band only sounds borderline bad when tim's lyrics combined with his delivery reach that "too cringe" point.
band needs to stop...or just stop writing the same songs but worse...or just fucking scream again but i dont think tim's voice can do that cuz why else would there be so little.
