Album really picks up around the title track...

That’s the slow point for me lol

Eve would have eclipsed everything here, with Arkhipov being a distant second

I wouldn’t go that far ghost. A Single Tear, Arkhipov Calm, I Can Tell You About Pain, Wildfire, Thousands of Miles Between Us, and Reptilian are top tier imo.
But yes Eve is probably the best song they’ve made since Jane Doe.

Just made another pass through this album. Fucks hardcore still. Didn't really jive with the title track back on release, but I thoroughly enjoyed it this time.

seeing verge tonight and kinda hope to hear a lot of cuts from this. I didn't love this album when it came out, but it's really grown on me overtime

Since they can’t play blood moon songs as a 4 piece I’m sure you’ll get several tracks from this. Enjoy, they still rip live

that makes sense, I imagine it'll probably be a mixed set. I will though! It blows my mind how well Jacob can still maintain his vicious vocals after all these years

Seeing them Monday, stoked as hell

mightve been an interview on thousands of miles between us where they talk about misconceptions about bannon's vocal performances. he actually isn't very loud into the mic. prob saves his vocal cords that way.

^That's funny, I've heard him say the opposite in interviews - that he is very loud and that his voice is pretty damaged by this point as a result

^ need to get their story straight

Yeah, JB’s voice sounds pretty blown out and has for years. I doubt he could do the high pitched screeching from the earlier records rn. His voice just tore up and got lower and more brutal over time. His delivery is actually pretty one dimensional but it works fantastically as an element to ground all the chaos around it and it’s just such a violent sound. I genuinely don’t think he could do much other than the barks and the punk shouts and the super soft clean singing.

That is a good point about the vocals on the earlier records. Even if he is a bit more limited in range now he still executes what he does so well especially considering how long he has been at it.
After seeing them last night I definitely think they still got it though and hope they still have a couple albums & touring cycles left in them

I understand they are working on the next Converge release right now, and also have material for another Bloodmoon album in the works. So fingers crossed we'll get at least two more albums.

I’m fine with them just putting out one more album but with it being titled Bloodmoon I, I’m expecting one or two more of those. With it being way less intense I could definitely see them putting out records like that indefinitely.

Yeah, we’re kind of experiencing a weird moment in music history where the first guys doing the whole metal/hardcore blend of any sort are now getting into their 40s/50s /even 60s. there’s never been anyone playing music like that that was that old before. So we’re kind of seeing what our parents experienced with watching the old 60s and 70s rock bands get old and some of them continue to tour well into old age. Regardless if napalm death and voivod and negative approach and cromags and insert whatever other band here… and all these OG bands are still ripping it up as well as they are on stage, there’s a great chance we will have many more years of these boys too
