It's a hard 5 man. A masterpiece of the genre.

I could see how this would be a 5 if this style is exactly what you like

^^^Exactly that happened to me with a now defunct band called Nahemah. Objectively not at all 4.5/5 material but something about the combination of elements they used to form their style was everything for me.

So much so that I still listen to and talk about them years after they broke up.

The more I listen to this, the more I feel this sub-genre of metal needs to stop making music and give it a rest. I don't know what you guys see in this particular band/ album.

So you categorize an entire genre with one album from one band

Interesting

Interesting indeed. Well everything on this record sounds pretty much perfect, with great variance in drumming and riffs throughout. Vocals, if anything, are the weak point but tbh they make sense for this style

Not at all. I've listened to a ton of bdm like this and I'm not going to kid myself, it becomes repetitive after a while. Kind of like every genre of metal.

with great variance in drumming and riffs

I must be listening to something different.

How conceited do you have to be to think that because you don’t like a genre it needs to stop existing? Just stop listening to things you know you won’t like. Don’t see me out here listening to drone metal

I'm with you Anthracks. That's why I stopped with indie pop/indie rock

Some people get off on being against the consensus I guess.

A new bdm album with an anthracks 5 attached to it? Have to check it out.

I’m not conceited, just know what the hell I'm talking about without all the fanboy bullshit to boot.

I like my fair share of bdm, but this is a by-the-numbers album that somehow has escaped mediocrity.

Yeah. This is fairly uninteresting and the lack of variation is tiresome. I don’t get it either. I mean this isn’t unique to BDM but the homogenous nature is rather mind-numbing. It’s just dull

I feel like championing things like this may as well lead to the death of heavy music as we know it. Knocked Loose is the same, just in a different guise. You’ve all been had
