"Other than many of the singles being overplayed to death, this is still a solid album" [2]
Having not heard some of the older Coldplay songs for years, I'm really enjoying a lot of their earlier material atm

Their first two and Viva are the best for me. X&Y has a few good songs (What If, specifically) but a lot of it doesn't do much for me like the others. Everything after Viva is kind of downhill slope of not great sliding into straight up bad with Head Full of Dreams. Haven't tried Everyday Life yet so can't speak on that
Clocks is probably my least favorite song on this but I still don't mind listening to it, even after hearing it a gillion times when it was a single

Mylo Xyloto and Ghost Stories grew a ton for me, but yeah, AHFOD is not very good

Mylo is straddling a 3 for me (really like Major Minus and a few others but a lot of it is pretty meh), and I actually really liked Ghost Stories when it first came out, but I hardly revisit anything from it now

Major Minus is a crazy good song agreed, I def wish more of the album had that edge to it

Major Minus is I think the one my brother always plays, or Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, idk they all sound the saaaaaaaaaaame

Heck yea, neeka!
It's probs their last truly standout song for me. I would put it up with the greats from their earlier stuff, too, but yeah, shame nothing else really comes close to it on Mylo

Daylight is such a tune fuck it

That's always been one of my least favorites here. Tracks 6-9 all kinda drag for me, album is way too frontloaded though the last two tracks pick it up again.

no one in the world remembers what Green Eyes and Warning Sign sound like but Daylight and Whisper are both great
Crests of Waves not making the cut is wild though

also isn't warning sign not a general fan favourite?

As far as that 4-track stretch goes Green Eyes and Warning Sign are better than Daylight and Whisper. :-/

Rowan I swear you and I have such strangely adjacent taste despite the fact that we often have wildly different views on particular albums (even, in this case, ones we both like).

Warning Sign is head and shoulders above everything else on this album

Love you Boney, but I have to agree with everything Rowan said on the previous page.
God Put a Smile, A Whisper, Daylight, and the t/t are my favs. The b-sides are good too.
