Very awesome album...though i've only listened to it once (i just got it today along with versus the world)
I think my favorite is the Pursuit of Vikings, but Arson is very close behind.

Love it, amazing melody on a metal background
Amon Amarth is one of my favorit band in my fav. list

It's good, but repetitive. The only tracks that are above a 3 in ratings are "The Pursuit of Vikings" and "Arson." The vocalist has a great voice, but needs to change it up a bit. The riffs are a bit monotonous as well.

i have a problem with Amon Amarth all their albums sound alike!

These guys are just awesome, I think they write some of the most catchy, melodic stuff out there right now. Never get tired of listening this band and there stuff is a blast to play on the guitar.

This is band is so damn consistently good, other melo-death band's should take note. I'll admit at a fair bit of points their songs tend to borrow from each other...I'll still take the recycling of kick ass riffs over the invention of retarded ones any day.

A lot of their songs sound the same with ths similar key tremolo picking, yet they're all still awesome because of the vocals/lyrics and the evident passion the band has for what they're playing.

Few classic songs and too much filler in this album IMO. That's definitly not the best AA album.

Album Rating: 3.5
By the individual song ratings it seems like this should be rated a 4, not a 3.5, since there are quite a few "5/5" songs..

versus the world was better but i still gotta say this album kicks some ass

Definitely my least favorite Amon Amarth, at least from the ones I've heard, but still really good. Band has always been consistently awesome.

This still has some good amon amarth songs that are memorable, but the production and the lack of heaviness on here keeps it from being a successor to versus the world.

This field has served as battle ground
Since the dawn of this world
Through the years a lot of blood
Has been pored into this earth!
Warrior's eyes full of purest rage
Steel cutting flesh
Spilling guts and severing heads
Sending men to their death!
RIDE RIDE RIDE VALKYRIE

Quickly becoming my favorite Amon Amarth album. It's not as fast or heavy as other albums but it's meaningful and epic.
"No man should have to bury his child
Yet this has been my share
The tears i shed run bitter and wild
It's a heavy burden to bear"
Jesus... Those are some heavy fucking lyrics. Amon Amarth believes in everything they do, unlike a great majority of bands, and I can get behind that.

Pretty decent record. Shame so much of Amon Amarths stuff sounds the same.
