This is actually a good album, though overshadowed (unsurprisingly) by "Among the living". A lot of the songs here do offer great musicianship and some amazing solos from Scott Ian, in particular 'Be all, end all', 'Out of sight, out of mind' and 'Who cares wins'. Also, 'Antisocial' is definitely one of the band's best. My only problem with this album though is that some of the songs are a little too long to begin with, so that it takes time to really start picking up, and this affects 'make me laugh' and 'Now it's dark'. Nonetheless, another good album from Anthrax.

I'm starting to think Gar Samuelson was a better drummer than Charlie Benante. Both were skilled, but I kinda think Samuelson's playing was richer/more interesting, while Benante, even though he's pretty great, often sounds dry. Just an opinion.
Samuelson > Benante > Ulrich

This one's pretty good, don't see why it has such a low rating compared to their other albums

Totally agree, it's an awesome album. It's just overshadowed by Among and Persistance I guess and thus doesn't get the rep it deserves.

I feel this album is criminally underrated. Production is silky smooth and each song has its own identity. Great melodies and riffage. Memorable stuff. Still to this day.

The fact that Among the Living isn't as maligned as this album is amazes me given how boring both of them are.

This doesn't have a song about Judge Dredd though
