No matter how hard I try, I really couldn't like them. I'd pick sappy R&B over Nickelback any day of the week.

^Well, I'd take ANYTHING over R&B...

I've been meaning to do a negative review...something that I could be sure that everyone would absolutely loathe. Oh, that would be sweet.

Ugh...thanks, but don't get me started. I hate my username with a firey passion. I'm sure Bobo could fill you in on the 20 minute rant I had about how my username sucks. I'm very self-conscious about this feel terrible about being forced to live under this horrid moniker everyday.

I actually like Nickelback.. I think Curb, is an excellent album..
This one isn't very interesting though.. Nickelback suffered alot from getting a major record deal.

From what I hear, their older releases, "Curb" and "The State" are supposed to be pretty good.

This one is a commercial nightmare, however.

Curb is really good.. The state is less good.. It actually says in their biography on their site (I don't know if it still does, but it did once), that when they got a major record deal they were "forced" into writing more "understandable" (read: dumb) songs

I don't buy that, because Chad Kroeger openly admitted in an interview he was out to write rock hits.

Buddy, you can have it changed. I think you just make a post in the site forum explaining why you want a change, and they'll do it. I've been meaning to get a space inserted between the two parts of my name. I think I'll go do that now.

Yeah, I've been thinking about doing that, since hate hate this name intensly...but it would be weird appearing under a completely different name since nobody would have any clue who I am.

I'm terribly sorry for reminding everyone about this album by bringing the thread back to life but I have a question about the only decent song about this album : Good times Gone... the licks they use this song are on this other song i've heard...and it bugs me that i can't figure out which song it is....Can any of you please help me remember? By the way i did not like this album.. quite mediocre. This Message Edited On 06.30.05

"Leader of Men" is from "The State" (just so you know, Tempermental Goat). I really like "Silver Side Up." I think songs like "Hollywood" and "Money Bought" really sound like fillers, but I disagree with the idea that "Woke Up This Morning" and "Where Do I Hide" are bad. Anyway, I think that it deserves at least an average rating. It's as good as any other pop rock albums of this time (not that there's anything wrong with pop rock like Creed, Alter Bridge, and 3 Doors Down. I really like all those bands.) with the exception of "One Day Remains" by Alter Bridge which I think is a very underrated album because it isn't getting much publicity but it is one of the most awesome pop rock albums ever......EVER!!!!!!

This album gave me nightmares for months. It's one of THE worst excuses for music I have ever encountered.

I really can't stand Chad kroegers voice, and a new grungy.new wave rock band emerges every day. They're nothing special at all

The tragedy is that How You Remind me is actually a well written song, and it's success as a single was entirely justified.
Now if only we could erase every other song they've ever written.
A blight on the musical landscape of the world.
