Balls, you're missing out. I guess you don't really realize that.

This was one of the first IF albums I really enjoyed. I really don't see how this album was a downfall by any sorts. They just keep reinventing themselves (whether you like it or not). Hence why the album is called 'Reroute to Remain' (whether you like it or not hahahaha). Calling this album a failure is pretty narrow minded if you ask me IMO.
On track with the review, it was solid and there are no complaints about the descriptions or rating.

get Lunar Strain, Whoracle, and The Jester Race. They're the only three In Flames releases worth listening to.This Message Edited On 02.25.08

Clayman ruins those albums ^^^^. IMO that was the pinnacle of their career. Eveything about that album is perfect. I find their critically acclaimed albums such as Lunar Strain, Whoracle, and The Jester Race to have a lot of repeditiveness on them as well as filler tracks.

The only thing that turns me off about pre-Colony stuff are the vocals, but when I can finally get Jester Race or Whoracle they'll probably grow on me.

Clayman is just an example of a band finding its own identity. Jester Race and Whoracle are good examples of the Gothenburg sound but not as unique.

Colony and Clayman are the band's best albums.

The only thing that In Flames did on Clayman was really boring spoken word parts and it was the beginning of Anders terrible clean vocals.

you need to listen to Bullet Ride and tell me the main riff doesn't whoop butt
or the drums on Clayman

Yeah, there is still really good music on Clayman, I just thought it was ultimately the beginning of the end, to paraphrase LOST.

'The beginning of the end' of In Flames depends on how much you like their new stuff. I really don't see how Clayman could be viewed as this. The spoken word stuff adds to the builds of the versus on Bullet Ride! And the guitar playing was top notch and so focused on that album compared to their older and newer stuff. Listen to it again!

god I just love this album. I do like the older works of in Flames too, but albums like this and A Sense Of Purpose have so much energy and are so fierce that they really incarcerate me into their sound. The fast, aggressive riffs, fast drumming and the fast, aggressively shouted vocals of Anders are all near perfect imo. This is just a superb album

This album has some great songs and Colony will always be my favorite IF album but I just don't get what people see in Clayman. Album just doesn't do much for me.

Colony and Clayman are the exact two so called "old In Flames" albums I have yet to check out. I want to get them both, I am going to sweden in about three weeks so maybe I can get them from there with a low price haha. If I can't wait though I think I will donload one of them.
For now, Sigh is the band I need to check out though. I downloaded Imaginary sonicscape based your rec's so it better be good!
