To prevent myself from being a hypocrite, I will eliminate bold on the album names of all my reviews.

cool, consensus. you dont see that every day.

honestly i was very disappointed by this album and Come Clarity is my favorite In Flames album with Colony coming in close second. No replay value at all, the songs are boring to me and sound all the same and the lyrics are the worst. And I tried really hard to like this album. An okay album by itself but when stacked up to their previous efforts this is definately the worst.

haha yeah, but I wrote this before the album came out and had no lyrics booklet to go by. I guess I should work on fixing that sometime.

I think this is a little better than a 2.... it IS at least a decent album. I did not say great, i said decent. Also, I think you're completely wrong with a lot of your comments in this review. Although very different from their earlier albums, Reroute and Soundtrack are still amazing albums. Sure it is a far different style, but as a album (not compared to other work), they are very good.
The band is going to change how THEY want to change. (well, i should say, the band changED how they wanted to change.)

I, and about half of their fanbase, tend to disagree.

The change isnt the problem. Its changing into something that's boring that is. I think everyone has pretty much gotten that In Flames have no plans on make anything similar to their old sound so expecting that would be moot but is it still too much to ask for a good album?

I thought Reroute and STYE were good when I first found out about In Flames. Then I went farther back in their discog and found out a lot better things about them.

Both of those albums are good, but this pretty much kills all their newer shit.

Ill admit that i wish this album was MUCH better, and yes i agree, redskyformiles.
but the thing is, almost all of the arguments about in flames cds past clayman (and even clayman) argue not about how the album isnt "good", but how it isnt the SAME style as their older material.
When you listen to the cd with an open mind, not comparing it to what they used to sound like, youd be surprised at how good it can actually be..
I'm not saying you specifically, redskyformiles, have not given all In Flames cds serious listens without subjectivity or anything, but most people that argue this way, seem to not have given them a fair listen...

^Pretty much agree with you there, but I'll throw in my old point of people completely missing In Flames objective.

I do like some of their post-clayman material. I actually enjoy Come Clarity a lot. I think I mentioned it in the review.

To create metal thats accessible and melodious on all fronts. They're still just missing here or there, but they take a bloody good shot at it every time, trying something new everytime.
However, now that I've read the page, I'm not sure why Timothee was arguing that point. You guys admitted thats the case really, just its still a bad album, which is fine since its your opinion.
