this band is only hated because they ripped off botch

And they ripped em off tastefully, Bayles as producer and even adding their own flair.

O God is one of the best Botch rip offs.

"And I think that Norma Jean's first release (Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child) with Josh Scogin is a chaotic mess and a poor example of any kind of music. I just can't find any reason to get into it. "

stopped reading after that.

I do believe that each new release by Norma Jean is better than the previous one. Good review. And good review SHOULD be personal, otherwise it is the most boring thing ever.

I don't mind the album too much. I'll probably throw it on my iPod and listen to a song or two going through shuffle. That's about the best I can give it, it sounds like the last album with poorer song writing.

Norma Jean has always been somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me.

The more I listen to the album the more I realize it's actually got some killer tracks. I like it. I wish I could change my rating to a 2.5.

This album is still really terrible/incredibly boring and lifeless to me...their first two albums were so much better

Ok. I'm not a big fan of Bless the Martyr, I enjoy O God The Aftermath. Redeemer was not bad, but not good. This album however, is by far the best they've done. I was skeptical at first, I will admit, but I went ahead and took a listen....wow. Nice review, by the way.

^ I like their albums in the exact opposite order...too bad I gave this a 4.5 when I reviewed it when it first came out. Oh how mine eyes were blinded!

pretty much one of those guys that wasn't too sure about Norma Jean up until i listened to Redeemer. this album, although not as good as Redeemer in my opinion, is fantastic. it's got such a crushing, addictive groove to it.
