Well...it definetely was. It even says so on their myspace.
Now i really wanna hear this, and the two songs on their space are better than anything i've heard off the this is love, this is murderuous, and better than EVERYTHING off the truth.

the truth was way to melodic for my taste, felt like they watered down their sound
thier finally getting back to that sound from portait and dust to ashes days when they were actually heavy
i like how there is like 1 or maybe 2 well placed breakdowns in the first half of this album.
nice to see them doing that

Review needs some serious tightening up. Alot of your descriptions are the same so you might as well compress the tbt into a descriptive paragraph. Keep it up and you will become better at being concise  .

I've actually never listened to the whole Portrait of the Goddess album but what I have heard was pretty good.
This is definitely their best though. I didn't have any problem with This is Love, This is Murderous, really liking Love Lost in a Hail of Gunfire, On Wings of Lead, and Revenge I Seek.
The only song that I REALLY like on The Truth is Line in the Sand.

Yeah Portrait is probably their best album. Its the heaviest along with dust to ashes.
Saviour, Saint, Salvation is ok if you can stand M.Shadows nasally whining vocals.

This isn't bad (after listening to two songs on their myspace). Unfortunately its something, that I know for a fact, would bore the shit out of me after two listens. The cleans are terrible, some of the jack hammer breakdowns are worthy of a headbang or two, the keys are nothing special, and the beefed up production makes this sound a little too polished for my liking.
