I'm going to actually drop this to a *gasp* 4.5

This is splitting hairs but as much as I love the songs on this album, I can't deny how grating the mixing of the vocals sounds through headphones at times especially on Do You Love Me?

I don't know if anybody else has noticed this.

production on most the older Bad Seeds albums is generally pretty poor. I mean this was released in 1994, you'd expect it to sound a lot better than it does

R.I.P. to Cave's longtime friend, Rowland S. Howard (from The Birthday Party)

Damn, R.I.P.

I like me some Birthday Party every now and then.

Yeah well the production on most the older Bad Seeds albums is generally pretty poor. I mean this was released in 1994, you'd expect it to sound a lot better than it does.

I can't find a hell of a lot to fault with the musical side of things, just the way the vocals sit in the mix can throw me off at times.

there's a few covers of it wandering around on youtube. the arctic monkeys for a start, injecting their brand of wily british larrakinism into would should be a moodier number.

and yeah who can forget that scene in dumb and dumber with the giant cowboy hat and the sweet old lady.
