Aha, thats pretty bad. If the guitar was less distorted it would sound pretty cool, but there is nothing that could ever fix those drums, not to mention it took me a while to realize that that scraping buzzing sound was signing.

what drums. All i could hear was the crash.

There was this 1-2 tom thing and a little snare.

Wow those noises are really the vocals? To be honest I couldn't get past the second track...so effing boring.

I have one Xasthur album already so I don't need to listen to this ever.

Mega Doom Fury Crusher - Demo of Ultimate Destruction and Pure Doom Vol. 1
nothing has ever sounded so appealing and unquestionably metal

Dirge Forsaken so far is alright? Has a slightly odd feel to it though. And wtf happened. The quality from the 1st and second song are like two different people produced it.
I think more effort went into the 3D icon on the webstream page than into the CD. I liked parts of the second song...give the whole thing a full listen later, if capable..

Whats really strange about this review is the fact I have a positive review for To Violate the Oblivion currently going hahahaha. But after hearing Subliminal Genocide, I was thrown that Xasthur were actually good throughout their (his) first few albums. Excellent review good sir.

This album has undeniable atmosphere, but fails to everything else. 2 seems to be appropriate rating.

Malefic looks like a complete fag.

i see what you did there.

Short, sweet, to the point. I like this review. On the other hand, Xasthur seems to be the black metal whipping boy on this site. I haven't seen any other black metal band with as many negative reviews in the close to 3 years that I've been on this site.
