yup, i'm a fanboy. preordered act 1 right after Casey announced it after treos kicked him out, so its really the first time I've felt like I've "been here" since the beginning of it all.

I wanted to like this but from what I heard, I'm not gonna lie, sounds pretty dreadful.

I'll listen to the rest in a bit but its weird becuase this sounds like the kind of stuff I would like.

listen to it from start to finish. it's sort of one of those albums that's hard to skip tracks on because it all flows so well.

Eh, I wouldn't say the flow is that great. It's sort of got the same sort of problem as the rest of TDH's albums, in that the tracklisting feels kind of cut-and-paste in places. It's probably just more that The Dear Hunter's music can take time to grow on you.

it's pretty lol that the reviewer's all like PRETENTIOUS about tmv and then loves this

i mean this is alright (album) but review seems hypocritical

Plus, I enjoy TMV. A fair amount actually. But they are pretentious. And so is this.

I've really been getting into them lately, and I love this album,

but I do agree that their other two albums are better.

1/3 of this album is what panic at the disco tries to be. another 1/3 is beautifully melodic. the last 1/3 is forgettable.

Amazing band. "In Cauda," "The Tank," and "Mustard Gas" are definitely my favorites.

Great cd from a fun band. Not sure about all this talk of them being great live though. Ive seen them twice (once with TFOT and once with mwY), and they were alright I thought. They sound solid, and Casey's voice was on at both shows. But they just sort of stand there and play, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of energy. Just my opinion though.

Just got this through, I didn't know it was out. Standout track for me was father. It's like the cinematic feel of Bladerunner but music, so big.....just so so big. Agree with TREO5, first 2 parts are a fantastic addition to this one.
