What makes this so good is the ever-so-slighty imperfect technicality from the guitar at some points (those sections that hint at AAL material). I even like it better than the absolutely perfectly executed sweeps in AAL records.
Kinda reminds me of The Fall of Troy s/t, which is slightly sloppy but better than the rerecorded guitar lines in Doppelganger.
