Good man.

hmm i normally don't like screamo but checking them out on myspace, some of this is growing on me, especially To Be Frozen.
|
| |
... keep listening...
|
| |
ehhhh. their decent... im REALLY put off by his vocals.
|
| |
Why, what's wrong with them?
|
| |
everything is good about this instrumental wise... but i seriously think i can sound better than their vocalist. placement of lyrics and delivery is ALL off. maybe it will grow on me, took me awhile for CTtS so..
|
| |
I definitely am on my way to check this out. Sounds great, especially with the shortage of good screamo this year.
|
| |
Fucking do it up, bro.
|
| |
I like it so far. It's sort of like Mesa Verde meets Kidcrash. It's got elements of both the post-rock branch of emo and the classic Saetia/Ampere sound. We'll see how it grows on me.
EDIT: Okay, the second half of the album hits really hard emotionally. This is awesome.
|
| |
More more more listens... this is pretty fucking great.

album is seriously good, same with the review. you're right about it flowing - I get surprised when I realize I've already come to
the end of Descent.
oh, and pos'd homie
|
| |
I know... it's deceivingly short, cause it's such a solid experience.
|

Third listen down, this is amazing. Thank you, sir, for enlightening the world to something that will probably make my end of year list.
|
| |
No problem... it's my pleasure... I found it on SLightlyEpic's blog, http://apeswithguns.blogspot.com/ if you want more similar to it kinda.
|
| |
I bookmarked his blog earlier this week, actually. My goal is to make emo show up on my pie chart, lol.

Hey everyone. Thank you very much for all the kind words, and the incredible review. If you like what you hear please pick this record up from us, or a shirt or something here - http://holyroarrecords.com/#/shop.php . We are a one man bedroom indie and every penny (cent) really does count these days. Hopefully the uk/us exchange rate isn't too prohibitive!
Thank you again
Alex

This grew on me the last few days. Maybe it's not that original, but it fits together really well. This somehow reminds me of Loma Prieta's "Last City" - even though it's much more melodic. But the flow of the album is pretty much the same.
Am I the only one who thinks, that "Branches" would've been a much better Closer. Somehow "Belief in Hope" doesn't fit in with the other songs
|
| |
heh no way, I used to be in this band!
Pretty good review man, you have pretty much nailed their sound very articulately.
|
| |
also yeah, go buy Alex's stuff
