Very nice, I was digging the Clark Kent description too... I think at least half of this site probably wishes they were journalists/writers (myself included). Unfortunately I'm just toiling away as an admissions advisor right now...

Job's a job at the end of the day, whatever pays the bills.
I get to spend my day casually working while sputnikin' constantly haha

^haha, me too bro. I'm on here all day long unless I'm talking with a student. Well, this and a couple Chicago Bulls blogs...

Admissions advisor must be a pretty sweet gig though, even if you couldn't sputnik. It'd be enjoyable no?

Well, if it wasn't for the online division of a graduate school. I spend most of the day on the phone.. and I'm held to standards almost like a sales job.. It does pay pretty well though, so I can't complain. I think I'd rather do something in management, the stress they put on ya with this job is rather intense. gotta convince enough people to start school every couple months or they fire your ass.
|
| |
I'd be pretty useless trying to convince ANYONE to do that haha

Yeah, I have no idea how I found myself in this job.

Someone managed to convince you though lol

Nice man, I definitely think the disc gets better as it goes on. The last few tracks are easily my favs. Any new stuff or good listening on your end lately?

The only thing that bugs me is that it's so short. Scuffle is so tight, Dessa is awesome.

Scuffle is ridiculously awesome. Yeah, it's a bummer that it's short -- but it's an EP. I thought the only downfall of their self-titled crew album is that there were a few too many tracks, so I guess I can't complain when an album is short. Although this one is still short even by False Hopes standards..
According to Joe Toeben's (fattytoeben on this site) Doomtree interview, Dessa's got an album coming out January 19th. Should be sick nasty.

I'm sitting at a very high 3.5 - 4. There were so many lines where I rewound it cuz they were seriously dope.
I've just been down with Dilla lately - just picked up A Tribe Called Quest's Beat's, Rhymes and Life and what Jay Dee does with those beats are so laid back and chilled that I can't help but bob my head. Still bumpin some Pete Rock & CL Smooth too. I also just picked up the new Felt release, but haven't gotten around to it. Heard/dig any of those?

Yeah, I really like the new Felt (wrote a review for that too) and I'm always down for some Tribe (been listening to Midnight Marauders a lot lately) or Dilla (love Donuts and The Shining).
I haven't listened to Pete Rock in awhile, I might have to go get some more of his stuff.
There are definitely some dope lines on this Doomtree man; i think it's one of their better releases.
