Eric, you forgot to mention that the singers sounds like a cat being ass-raped by actual pop-punk bands.

see, those are the kind of comments I've made in negative reviews of popular before. I've found they tend to be divisive.

*RAGE*, nah just kiddin but you're still a negative nelly.
|

I've reviewed 2 albums below a 2.5 in the last 21 reviews. I'm not gonna avg. 106 reviews but I guarantee it's a little below 4, I bet. If anything I should probably write more negative reviews

Did you not realize that I'm one of spuntik's more divisive users? You're either a tink or a rabbit. Choose sides.

and every word you've used in those fours and fives has been unpleasant to my ears and you're just being negative for attention, particularly for this album

I'm not actually an emery fan at all... I just love the vocals... in most of their songs. I was just stricken by your review, which seemed to nitpik to the max.

oops I forgot reviews aren't supposed to analyze things and judge them

I just can't handle that your opinions don't seem legitimate, it's like you're venting on it or just trying to go against the crowd for your own amusement.
|
| |
ok, this is the point where you point out what exactly you disagree with me on (preferably on Emery, I feel much stronger about that one)

fromtheinside: thanks for the legit criticism... let's seeee...
point taken, but simplicity can hurt OR help music... I may have been unclear but I don't think I ever explicitly criticized MCS for their simplicity. saying "they aren't mistaken for GY!BE" wasn't IN ANY WAY an insult, and I'm afraid people are taking it that way. simplicity is good, when it's executed well.
see, but that's where Motion City cross the line. There's nothing here to complement that simplicity. No layers, no subtlety, NO other endearing factors really, and the ones that are there (lyrics are occasionally ok) are overshadowed by the negative aspects, I think, as I said.
Say Anything is THE perfect example. Yes, they do simplicity, but it'd be ridiculous not to recognize them for their greatest asset- the innovation and breath of fresh air they bring to a somewhat-stale genre. There's an incredible amount of dynamism and variety on their records.
None of that here. none.
Does that help at all hopefully?

POS!

thanks, glad we got that sorted out, and your complaints are warranted... I would make some changes but I really don't have the motivation now... I'm leaving anyway
