Quite possibly. I find the line, "the healing power of alcohol only works on scrapes and nicks, and not on girls in seedy bars who drown themselves in it" to be one of the best lines I've ever heard from any band. Sad lack of that on the new one.

Oh hey look, its Knott and Davey in a Bayside thread...

That's a tough question since I've been infatuated with each track like 5 times over but I'd say my favorite for the moment would be Guardrail because the nostalgia is strong with this one

Too true Adam. If I had to do like a list of my top 50 fave lyrics (1-4 lines, not whole songs), Bayside could have as much as 5 in there I reckon.
Oh, and while 'Blame It On Bad Luck' may be my fave song of theirs, 'Winter' could be their very best.
Ooh yeah, I love Guardrail too Nevin. Just on this album (S&C) actually, I think they chose the wrong track from their split with Name Taken. I much prefer Cold and Blue and Lifeless & even Loveless Wrists.

I also love in Michaelangelo when he says "there's only so many chances that you get to do something that's this important"

how to fix everything is like a top 5 bayside at least damn

This album is unbelievably overlooked. The Bayside tattoo on my arm tells me to put this at a 4.5 but I'm trying to remain objective.
A Synonym for Acquiesce, Guardrail, How to Fix Everything, Just Enough to Love You, Masterpiece... All of them could be argued as top 5 Bayside songs based on how I'm feeling that week.

This is definitely my favorite Bayside. You just convinced me that I should bump it anyway. I feel like when you break it down this is one of my favorite lyric albums period. Too many gems to mention, like this one from Talking of Michelangelo:
I wonder when, when I'll finally understand,
Why time can wash away love like
It was made of sand
And it's wonderful
The pain that comes with regret
Sometimes you have to see the beauty
In all of this loneliness
...and these from Poison In My Veins:
There's something in an empty bed that makes it hard to close your eyes
It can eat at you until they both turn black and blue
Cause I'm all wrong and I don't see a chance to fix this head
So just give up. Write me off, pretend I don't exist

What's incredible to me is that Anthony didn't write the lyrics on this album. His lyrics on their self-titled are probably my favorite of any album ever and I was shocked when I learned he didn't write any on Sirens.

I didn't know that! It's not like there are vast stylistic differences between this and the other albums.

This album was awesome, I also really liked their more pop whiny emo punk before this too. It just sounded good to me back then. I am sure they evolved a lot more as musicians and songwriters and I know some about their next one. I remember talking about Bayside and Alkaline Trio a lot at bars and it was definitely after this era, but without getting too sidetracked pretty sure the gal at the time didn't like my lack of Bayside knowledge beyond the first two albums and their old shit. I remember this guy though when I seen him we loved the same Alkaline Trio era (which was the first few that S/T B-sides album owns).
Also I am aware I shouldn't use reviews (I wrote one) and maybe the comments for a "remember when" constantly, but a lot of music is a time and place and I just can't help it. I try to be relatable not narcissistic.
