Life And How To Live It is one of my favorite early R.E.M. songs.

Maps and Legends is my favorite on here.

Tracks 8-10 on here are pretty meh. I hate when albums have weak patches.

I hate when albums have weak patches [2], but in my opinion the only throwaway track is the closer, Good Advices is actually a favorite of mine.

I actually like Wendell Gee honestly.

Auctioneer (Another Engine) is probably my least favorite, it just seems to be out place in a bad way.

"Auctioneer" has killer verses but that shoddy chorus derails it badly

"Kohoutek" is the best song her imo. "Green Grow the Rushes" is the only (borderline) throwaway.

disagreed hard ("Kohoutek" is nice but not very memorable, while "Green Grow the Rushes" is becoming one of my favorite R.E.M. songs) but to each their own

kohoutek is classic but i'd say can't get there from here is the only dud. goofy shit to include on an otherwise really dark album with unified tone

banjo solo on wendell gee is purdy

Yeah, Green Grow The Rushes is an excellent tune. So is Can't Get There From Here, lightens up the mood a bit.

Raise the walls to hide these flaws, the carpenter should rest
So that when you tire of one side the other serves you best

Excellent stuff.

Agreed, agreed, maybe not the best (Automatic, Murmur) but probably 3rd or 4th favorite.

This album is growing hard on me.

Favorite song has to be "Life And How To Live It" by far.

Other highlights are "Driver 8" (a classic), "Feeling Gravitys Pull", "Wendell Gee" (although it reminds me heavily of country), "Good Advices", and "Green Grow the Rushes" even if the latter is basically a "7 Chinese Bros." part 2.

The rest has yet to standout to me, although I'm sure with more listens it will. Can't stand "Cant Get There From Here" however. Gotta be the worst track. Loving the mood of this record!

This is excellent, underrated hard as well. Life And How To Live It is also my favorite, Driver 8 and Feeling Gravity's Pull are top tier R.E.M., but Wendell Gee feels as a throwaway for me. R.E.M., as much as I love them, never had the best closers in their 'classic' albums (save for Find The River, of course).
