not sure i agree,
it is pretty good (especially for grind)
but the vocals get tough to listen to after a song or two
very number 12-ish
which isn't a bad thing
nicely done

I'm so happy I stumbled across the Sawtooth Grin a few years back, it's the only album I've been able to listen to for more than a year and still not get tired of it.

By the way, there are other vocalists who have a voice like him- I have a video of this band and their lead singer could be his vocal twin, I swear. I've heard higher screams as well. All in all, I'm a huge fan of Rich L.'s vox.

This album's a flippin' classic. Best spazzy math grind I've ever heard, nevermind the length

Vocals remind me of Dance Club Massacre or See You Next Tuesday

Just, definetly more hectic and spazzy. This Message Edited On 03.25.07

Well one of the main reasons his vocals sound so high is just the different distortions put on it, and probably a pitch shifter. But they're like one of my favorite bands, so I don't really care about using effects. The whole album is just genius

their singer can do that thing that monks train to do. he can scream high and low at the same time. listen to it at the end of "please shit all over me, i love it". it's one of the last vocal parts. these guys are intense, it's a real shame they're gone.
also, the singer's new band, cloacal kiss, apparently were looking to find a real drummer, but nobody could play fast enough, so they just have a drum machine. it's pretty sad, because the drum machine makes it sound too much like a wall of sound.

and there is definately no pitch shifter going on on this album. that's 100% the singer. there used to be videos of these guys on youtube playing a set at a skatepark, and his vocals are spot on. it's not very good quality though.

as far as total dissonance and a generally high-pitched tonal center, i'd say they're pretty similar. and yeah this is some SICK shit. kinda 12-ish, from POYRRG era. really glad i found this just now.
