Nice review! Personally I think only Yndi Halda made a better album of the "Non gigantic" Post-rock bands. Will listen more though.

one of my favorite samples in any song. only thing is:

LOST sample from never dead by trophy scars > this

but yeah this was one of my very first post rock albums surprisingly and it helped me get into the genre

really? that's interesting. it's pretty long and grandiose, even compared to a lot of other post-rock albums. i could see it being kinda off-putting to people who aren't used to the aesthetic of the genre haha

i can see this being mindblowing if you're new to the genre but this really is just another post-rock album

track 2 is awesome. last track is mindblowing. though this album has better moments, i think maar is a better album to get lost in. structures are a lot less predictable and more meandering. listened to maar on the train to uni recently and drifted in and out of a slight daze listening to it, and it was an amazing experience. didn't miss my stop thankfully.

maar is a great album but but it doesn't feel as 'inspired' (as stupid a term that is) or engrossing as this one

I was a bit too liberal with my 5's when I wrote this but it's still a fucking great album. The first two tracks have been on constant play on my iPod recently
