"Well because of the rating I thought I should neg"
This actually crossed your mind?

If one looks at the fan ratings of this album and then looks at your 2, it's easy to see you are well outside the mainstream opinion. Not saying that is always bad to be dissenter but this album is a classic and better than a 2 and the argument is strong.

I appreciate that you took a different stand on this. But like some other commenters are pointing out, it seems a little weird that you would like Necrophagist, Immolation, etc. but not Slayer. Each to his own, I guess.

Your first three paragraphs are mostly irrelevant. you don't need massive exposition for a review of an album that has a legacy. it's good to assume that your reader knows nothing - you're at your most honest and effective when you do this - but here that just doesn't work, especially since you are bucking the trend of the ratings.
at best, you've made poor man's track by track review. at worst, you couldn't quite figure out how to express your discontent for this album, but wrote a bunch of words anyway. While I mostly agree with your rating, and your basic assessment (that the songs blend together) is generally the reason I find this album boring, your means of expressing this need a lot of work. It isn't enough to simply say /what/ you find wrong with the album (its monotony), but /why/ that's so bad (why is the repetition here worthy of such a low rating?).
Props for the review that bucks the trend, and obviously, ignore the fanboys, as objectivity in music is a blindness most don't know they have, but work on your thoughts more next time.

"Influential yes. good, kind of. overrated? Most definitely"
this guy basically said it right. u look at Number Of The Beast, NOLA, Master Of Reality, and Master Of Puppets and those albums bring influence and high quality music through out.
This has Angel of Death and Raining Blood with a couple of somewhat good songs between. its a classic, but the same way Venom's Black Metal is. because of influence.
