Love this album but Type Three is terrible imo. Stephen's voice is annoying as hell in the chorus

Type Three is one of the best on here
Self-Starter and Little Tyrants are the top tracks, though

Also, I always dislike when bands don't actually play their songs.

Ehh you're hitting Waior territory with that comment, at which point you have to question their previous works like Cities with all the vocal effects that makes a lot of songs possible.
Anyways I don't know, Little Tyrants is fantastic but it never struck me as super memorable. Type Three is my favorite---I'm not sure how you don't like the chorus, Crawl. It's gorgeous. That's probably followed by Self-Starter, but I don't know, #2-7 are like a clusterfuck of awesome songs that's so hard to choose from

I'm not against studio enhancement. It's just that I like when bands can play the songs live without backing tracks. Cities had electronic elements and whatnot but I feel like on Vital it bothered me enough to be mentioned.
And yeah Crawl the vocals in Type Three are superb.

Mhm I gotcha. I prefer a backing track as long as the actual performance is possible (e.g., Whisper is one of my favorites off Cities but I dislike it live because the chorus hinges on Stephen being able to do something literally impossible. Same with a lot of harmonizing; sounds great when Stephen harmonizes with himself, but bad when a backup singer tries to harmonize with a significantly better vocalist). But it's just that---preference. So fair enough.
