^ ok, i see what you mean. when you said "he'd (Rhys) prefer for FLA to be heavier" and you mentioned Rhys period usually are when the band is at its best, i thought you meant you wanted a heavy record from them.

I'd like a heavier album, but I liked Tactical Neural Implant (and that style) too.

jw, have either of you heard necro dogg's new album yet? it's a bit on the rawer side but it's got some pretty heavy moments esp on the second side of the record

Leeb's voice must be immune to age or something because he's almost 60 and he sounds just like he did in the '90s. Then again it's probably all the digitized effects.

"Then again it's probably all the digitized effects." thats the best part about Industrial acts lol, Ministry, SKinny Puppy, KMFDM,16Volt all the front men sound pretty much the same. hey fits the style of music tho

Great review dude and I totally agree with your statement about them being underrated. I will get around to this sometime.

Thanks. So far, it's the strongest record released this year from all the 1980s industrial bands.

ehhh its a tie between this and Weapon by SP for me. Weapon is great for the old school style but this is great for the modernization of FLAs early 90's stuff

Weapon is good, but I miss the aggressive side of Skinny Puppy, that's why I enjoy Echogenetic more.

eh weapon is dull, if i wanna hear bites or remission i'll listen to those albums. handover was a lot better.

new FLA is totally superior to weapon.

This sounds nothing like Bites

you have to be kidding about Handover, it had some good track at the end but the majority of the

record was very weak especially compared to Weapon.

Yes there are a few tracks that sound very much like Caustic Grip (one of my alltime faves).

BUT there are one too many tracks with over-the-top audio compression. Blood, for example, is a nice melody but -GOD- the audio compression makes me sick and NOT want to listen to the track.

Don't get me wrong, I love getting my ear-drums blasted but this just seems too obvious and leaves me a bit disappointed.

And I disagree that this feeds off TNI. That album really stands by itself. TNI was tight and the sampling was perhaps some of the best sampling i've ever heard. If there was anything nearly close to TNI, it would have been the first Intermix release.
