Yes sir! I knew it ;)

This slays Disclosures Settle imo.

Eh, I still think Settle is the better album. Both are wonderful but Settle just has the "fun factor" over this
|
| |
Settle really has nothing over everything

I mean I disagree but if you dislike fun poppy house music then I can see where you're coming from
|

Disclosure have a great talent but they've rushed through their album IMO. Some killer tracks; several
fillers; kind of hit or miss. If all of Settle had been as good as "What's In Your Head"
or the "Tenderly/Flow" double-single it really might have been electronic dance AOTY. They certainly
know how to create a masterly groove but they need to be more patient when making things in the
studio. That's my view on it.

I love the Cover artwork.

Same, it's like a foretaste of the album!

Or if you just think that the fun poppy house is a shadow of the group's former selves...

After Dawn is a great song.

Album Rating: 4.0
one of the best of the year I'd say
|
| |
Definitely!
I don't think I have any favorites because the album is really coherent and excellent through & through. But if I had to choose 4: After Dawn, Restless, Warstones, Boosted.

Another good rec from you Eloriaz, although I did't understand shit ;)
By the way, thanks for keeping electronic music alive in this site. I get my recs from most of the users in this thread (Tmobotron, Deviant, Brostep...)
|
| |
Hehe, you're welcome ^_^
And yup, even though electronic music is far from being really popular on Sputnik there are several
users who know it very well and who can help you learn it. That's basically why I subscribed on this
site and why I'm still here. Of course Deviant started it all but you've got, like you said, TM,
Brostep, and there are many others: Mindleviticus, Clercqie, StrangerofSorts, Tornado, Tree,
Typhoner, Acanthus, Rev, Bloc, Hyperion, Yotimi, etc. Check their lists, check their reviews, visit
ResidentAdvisor on a daily basis, look at the charts/lists on RYM, and you'll learn plenty!
That's basically what I do! And if I can contribute a little bit then I'm happy.
So help yourself ;)

Yeah, I forgot about Clercquie, loved some of his lists...
I do check RA on a regular basis, it's just I'm too familiar with the format in this site, I'm used to go in the soundoff page and check the ratings a release has gotten to know if I should get it... That's something you can't (or I'm unaware how) do there...

Have you checked their Poll features? At the end of each year they make best-of lists that are really
helpful if you don't want to miss out on X or Y.
Top 100 albums of the 2000s: http://www.residentadvisor.net/feature.aspx?1144
Top 100 tracks of the 2000s: http://www.residentadvisor.net/feature.aspx?1145

Among many others. It goes back to 2006. I consult these religiously.

First 2 lists, yes I did check em out. Never got to hear Voices From the Lake though, I think I read somewhere it was very minimal and I wasn't in the mood for that at the time. Was it good?
|
| |
I haven't listened to it yet so I can't say ;P
But I would bet it is.
