I'd like to hear these guys do either a more ambient influenced album, or to hear a ridiculously heavy record that focuses more on songwriting. I think they'd benefit from switching things up on the next release.

15/10 review. Absolutely great read. Would pos x 1000 if I could. I'm probably going to really enjoy this album because these guys NEVER disappoint. BRB spinning it a few times.

This album reminds me some Plini/Protest The Hero/The Safety Fire/Destiny Potato works.
It seems like everyone in the progressive scene today is using exactly the same suonds and sonority.

I feel like I'm one of the few Sputnik listeners that thought The Collective was their weakest work. It didn't have the immediate snap that Carving Desert Canyons or Monument had and I felt the slow passages dragged rather than complemented the album like "Odyssey" off The Migration. So if this sounds a lot less like The Collective and more like Monument then sign me the fuck up.

Both STS bassists have been incredible.

The last album and CDC have been the only albums I've ever bought bass tab booklets for.

It sucks how little attention this album got.

I've barely listened to it since its release.

Oort cloud is as good a song as scale the summit have written, could listen to that all day.

but at the moment I tend to agree with the review. and it's been said but there really is something about how cohesive The Collective feels(and to a lesser extent The Migration) that always brings me back.

I like the Migration better than the Collective, by a slight margin. This definitely feels more like a collection of songs than either of those albums. Still solid stuff, especially Oort Cloud.

I actually found this more enjoyable than The Migration, which had a few straight up bad tracks imo.
