I'm pretty sure this was recorded in Audacity with the minimum amount of mixing. Nothing gels. And the quietness and unevenness convinces me that zero mastering was done. It's like the opposite of brickwalling.

I'd bet you're spot on with that. It honestly is in such a way that I'm surprised they can stand to hear it themselves. Wonder what they sound like live...

It's a quiet flute blast but clearly the flautist was really blowing there. I found it quite funny.
And no, I didn't make it that far, I started skipping around after a bit.

i listened a couple of times, right around that moment the flautist is still in the middle of just doing his normal flute line
that's good for your health, i could listen to this whole thing but i'd be annoyed doing it

And yeah it was keeping me from actually getting any work done. Too cringy.

I just think the whole thing sucks from beginning to end. There's talent in this band but the band isn't talented, if that makes sense. I know getting a good production job can be expensive but
a) If they hired someone to do it they did an extremely poor job.
b) If they did it themselves they need to work on it A LOT. I've spent as much time learning how to record and mix as I have learning how to play guitar, it's not something you can half-ass. It honestly makes me kinda sad, these guys have ambition but have fallen at the last hurdle.

like i said, seem like good folks with LOTS of passion. there are a lot of ideas here and you can hear what they were going for, but these kids (they seem pretty young) need to do a lot of musical growing up
and get their album fucking mixed
