This album is complete dogshit. Just another in a long line of disappointing records by this band.

The riff style on this album is even more melodic than their previous material. Some of it reminds me of Iron Maiden. It's a refreshing twist on their otherwise formulaic sound, I guess.

Damn it, whenever I listen to Amon Amarth I get the compulsive urge to play Skyrim again.

One of the only bands I've ever listened to that has managed to pump out solid release after solid release while maintaining almost the exct same sound on every one of them.

For me this is just a solid AA album. I don't think it's any better than anything after twilight. The story is mentioned as making this album a little more noteworthy, but from the lyrics I heard, it's nothing too impressive. I actually prefer the more Norse mythology based songs of Odin, Heimdall, the Norns, etc. There's one song on here where I found myself laughing about how he has to fight his best friend with a sword.

They try to be like Moonrabbit. Just like them. With their 80s sounding, castle, drone, clone, and severed bone style of "rock". Just plain alternative, it's hard to respect a band that can't consummate like they could 12-15 years ago. Hopefully their next record will be good. This isn't really worth a soak TBH.

This album is fucking weird for me in a good way. At first it was really bland to my ears and nothing stood out, but after a few spins, some of the songs are really starting to hit me. First Kill, Back on Northern Shores, On a Sea of Blood, and One Thousand Burning Arrows are my favorites.

Sounds alright to me. Not their best, but nothing bad either

If I was in the snowy mountainous regions of Skyrim (near the college) I'd jam A Blaze In The Northern Sky.
