There was way too much of Jesse's vocals on this album. He's nice in small doses, but when it's 80% of the record it can be a bit grating. JT wasn't that wise of a choice for a vocalist in my opinion, he is very boring to listen to. At least the instrumental aspect of the album was still impressive, albeit less impressive than Impulse or Augment

Good review. A lot of people (especially older fans of the band) will probably not like this. It definitely has that Erra feel but it's also completely different. The whole album displays somewhat of a different emotion than before. This album really exceeded my expectations. When I originally heard the first singles I was somewhat disappointed. Tracks like Skyline, Orchid, Irreversible, Sleeper, Continium and The Hypnotist are grade A tracks. Skyline and Orchid are especially good. Definitely ranking in as 2 of my favorite Erra songs. I'd say just listen to the album with an open mind and don't get too caught up on comparing it to the bands former releases.

I personally think JT is a great fit for the band. I've seen them live recently and he completely killed it on tracks like Seven and Hybrid Earth. He brings a different vibe to the band, his screams and growls are not as guttural. I think his screams display a bit more emotion though, which fits really well on this album.

Wish Sleeper was on another album cause that's the best song on here and it would be incredible to hear with Garrison's vocals

Pretty much agree with SteakByrnes. But honestly even if I don't compare it to Impulse or Augment I still probably wouldn't care much for this.

Great review, very valid points. I miss alan's writing and garrison's vocals, his lyrics too. The Production is also very "light." But its still an enjoyable album. Favorite song has to be continuum, that guitar lead in the middle section reminds me of old Erra. Sleeper and orchid are awesome too.
Good thing alan has own project and still writing music.
