"There's No Other Way" is gold.
Digging: The Black Crowes - Amorica |

I cant understand how a song like Sing is on this one
Digging: Sibylle Baier - Colour Green |

Album Rating: 4.0
Not too hard to comprehend when the album also has Birthday on it.
Love the front cover of this, classic photo. I clearly remember posters of this up in HMV when it was released and absolutely loving There’s No Other Way.

There's No Other Way was my favourite Blur as a kid, even down to the video for it. Sing was just so ahead of the rest of this album. I haven't listened in a while though

Did you buy into that blur v oasis shit zak?

Fucking hell did I. I was a massive Blur fanboy.
|
| |
haha I could not have predicted that, better them than oasis. Now you're aware that Different Class was the real opus of that era right?

Lived it and loved it pal. Back then I would’ve plumped for I Should Coco but Pulp really were ‘different class’
I still regularly listen to His n Hers. Pink Glove is an absolute cracker.
The band I appreciate more now than I did back then is Suede. Their first two albums are essential. I bought Animal Nitrate on single and had the debut but wasn’t taken with how my dad thought I was a shit stabber so got rid.

I Should Coco is a cracker, but I never ever have the desire to spin it. Shit stabber, fucking hell haha - Animal Nitrate is another level to the rest of Suede's stuff but I've never got too into them past their singles.
Think my dad was too old, and I was just too young but you couldn't escape it even after.

Fucking Mansun at 2.5 though, shit stabber

Mansun were entirely hum drum. They entered the fray a bit later on as well. Wasn’t too long before OK Computer was released and completely changed the landscape.

Attack of the Grey Lantern is one of those seminal underrated gems for me at this point

It was massively over-hyped at the time, I think that’s contributed to my overall opinion of the thing. Meh son.

Album Rating: 1.5
Mansun were a bit drippy but I remember 'Wide Open Space' being a big-ish song and them playing on Top of the Pops
Grey Lantern has a few hidden gems on it like Disgusting and uh, Dark Mavis
I've come to the conclusion I dislike Blur almost as much as Oasis - though I could prob rescue about 20 Blur songs I like quite a lot over all their albums.
I fell out with their latest ice cream album to the extent it went from a 3.5 to a 1 over about 12 months, can't stand it now lol

They’re very much of their time but credit where it’s due they have done some absolutely classic tunes

I don't get the hate for this album. It definitely is one of blur's weaker albums but it is a very catchy alternative rock album in my opinion.

Honestly this isn't that bad, that average is crazy low
Digging: Candy (USA) - It's Inside You |

That average is a nonsense.

Still not sure about this band
Might need another 25 years to decide
