guys. i hate to burst the bubble but...

Ordinary Superstar: Belongs on a long forgotten Now 47 CD solid 0/5

Take Me As I Am: Belongs on a "greatest ghetto pop 00's" compilation that has long since been purged from the earth 0.5/5

10-20-40: ok, some 80s synth pop worship I can get behind at least 3.5/5, well played

Tunnel Vision: literally everything progressive and exciting about modern pop music encapsulated in a song 5/5

Time Out: This isn't even obnoxious enough for a DDR arcade game but it also doesnt belong anywhere else on the planet so 0.5/5

Alterlife: back to 80s worship but this time instead of harnessing the good elements of the era, it harnesses the gimmicky ones 2.5/5

Through the Wire: congrats an interlude is more listenable than 90% of the rest of the album 3.5/5

Cyber Stockholm Syndrome: finish it off by revisiting an era of pop music that needs to be fucking buried in the ground. 0.5/5

i know we have a certain image to maintain since we all hyped up Clarence's album and vaxxi is a total stan but lets be real here this shit is so all over the place, and its disappointing because only 2 of the like 5 stylistic choices here are actually good.

two things:

A 0/5 song and 5/5 song cannot exist on the same album

How could you give an album with a 5/5 song a 1.0?

Yes I am a CC stan, I cannot deny it. (i type as im staring down the no now vinyl sitting across my desk) But I also think this record's composition is way too intricate to just denounce as a bad take at an already bad style of pop music. Like yeah its fine to not dig the style, but i just dont think this record is bad let alone "a mess".

ramon.

Whomst the fuck is ramon.

@neek if the equation actually stresses you out that much you are probably taking ratings a lil too seriously

@vaxi your words not mine. Lets not over-generalize. Some "compositions" here are intricate and tantalizing. Others are bad takes on bad pop cliches from bad pop eras.

again, if you want to look at the silver-lining, my initial knee-jerk rating was so harsh because the moments that showed streaks of brilliance were absolutely effervescent to my ears... there-fore hearing the rest after the high I experienced having Tunnel Vision be my first track of hers left me kind of shell-shocked and brutally disappointed. If I didn't love those glimmering shards so much, I would never had had such a harsh emotional reaction to the let down expectations.
