Nice tramp stamp of an album cover

Tindersticks started with two S/T - that’s legendary, they just get known as Tindersticks 1 and 2

No one is going to refer to the STP S/T albums as STP 2, 6 and 7 lol

Haven't listened to this yet, but have to say that William DuVall is a fucking cool guy - I hope they continue doing what they're doin'.

The music lives on

New AIC is pretty good, especially BGWTB. This really isn't that bad and is arguably better than the last s/t WITH Weiland, Gutt's a more than decent singer that does a decent Weiland, and the record has some genuinely solid old-school STP moments, soooo disagree, it's a hard 3 imo

Speaking of endorsements, people will still show up to these trash concerts because Johnny Depp is playing guitar.

this is probably the most prominent album of the last 12 months to be written entirely using bad Zeppelinisms

Duvall ain't an imitation of Staley, that's for sure.

I think this record is better than the last 2 they made with Weiland. He’s not imitating Scott. They just picked a singer that fits with their sound. Same thing with AIC.

Agree that this is much better than the last Scott Weiland STP album (and solo album, for that matter).

This is a pretty awful review tbh. Half of it is just bitching about STP continuing to use the name without Weiland. Holy shit. Get over it. Weiland wasn't even in the band when he died. It's one thing to be duped into opening a tin of sausage and beans when you've been told that there's sausage in the tin. It's another to whine about no pork in the tin when it clearly says on the label "Contains no sausage".

Oh wait. You also think that Velvet Revolver's "Contraband" is better than any GNR or STP album. Sheeeiiit. Your reviews should come with trigger warnings.

"Like Alice in Chains, I can’t for the life of me understand why a band would pick an imitation of their former singer"

my gut told me to stop reading here, but I continued on.

Review is meh, gonna have to agree with Sitar on this, will definitely check this out if you're comparing it to Alice cause they still fuckin rock

i have no issue with the new vocalist, and dont mind he sounds similar to weiland.
Especially have no issue whatsoever with AIC new vocalist, he is great, similar but different enough, and dont forget cantrell does harmonies which makes it hard for the new guys voice to stand out on its own and differ

As for STP, i liked the chester bennington ep quite a lot actually
STP self titled with Weiland is real good.

The problem with this new one for me is thus far, it just sounds all ok, decent but nothing great. More listens required though

As much as I love and miss Scott I enjoyed this quite a bit, way more than their approach with Chester. The DeLeo bros still have it and I don't have the feeling this is only a cash grab, I think they just want to continue making the music they want to unburdend by their past. They deserve to have fun and continue this amazing band if they feel like it and this one fits nicely with their discography.
