The big machine shade definitely doesnt play (shes on mercury) so I can't even tell if that's like, an intentional attempt at smarm or just a mistake (honestly have no idea what to expect from someone who listened to something keith urban put out in 2016). Also, suggesting, in the same sentence, that she's actually part of the nashville "machine" and that st/dp wasnt "groundbreaking by any means" undercuts any real meaning the sentence is trying to convey (which, i believe, and could agree with, is that she's a great musical storyteller...)

I’m sorry, I’m a linguist; I can’t help myself.

Did I just get owned?

Lol I appreciate the comments but I fail to see how that’s an “awful sentence”, it could be broken up but it’s not long enough to make it unreadable. Also there’s no intentional “big machine” shade (I’ll edit it down to “machine” so nobody else complains), and the point of the sentence seems pretty clear to me: she’s a talented artist who has yet to put out groundbreaking work but is still standing out because of her skills at storytelling.

I ended up breaking the sentence up too so there’s that

Lol we are nitpicking today aren’t we. The sentiment’s identical and I couldn’t be bothered to double-check the exact words you used to trash the sentence

Mother is the best short song I’ve heard in a long time, whenever I see a sub-2 min track I always expect it to be filler but that song is anything but that.
